Not everyone likes to spend a lot of time on putting things in order at home. Many people want to do everything quickly and efficiently. But this does not always work out. It is especially annoying if problems with the operation of household appliances become the reason for the delay in cleaning. One of the most common problems is the deterioration of the vacuum cleaner traction. But do not get upset right away. In most cases, the disadvantage can be eliminated independently without significant financial and time costs. Verification should begin on a simple to complex basis.

Full dust bag

First of all, if there is a problem with the draft of the vacuum cleaner, it is necessary to check the position of the power regulator of the device, which can accidentally be set to the minimum values. If everything is in order, then proceed to check the level of filling of the dust collecting container. Depending on the model of the device, this may be:

  • transparent plastic flask;
  • paper bag;
  • bag made of thick fabric;
  • water tank (aquafilter).

On the case of most modern vacuum cleaner models, a light indicator is installed, which lights up in red if you need to clean the dust container. But there are situations when the indicator does not light up, and the filling of the dust bag exceeds 70%. This may already be the cause of traction deterioration.

Solving the problem will help cleaning the container to collect dust. If the instrument is equipped with a paper bag, it must be replaced with a new one, since it is not intended for repeated use.

Filter clogged

After the stage of checking the degree of filling of the dust collector, if the draft has not recovered, it is necessary to check the degree of contamination of the filters. On most models of devices there are 2 of them:

  1. Coarse air filter. It is installed in front of the device’s electric motor and is designed to prevent foreign objects and debris from entering the motor.
  2. Air fine filter. Typically, this is a HEPA filter that provides a high degree of retention of dust particles in the air blown out of the device.

If the first filter is dirty, it can be washed with plain water and replaced. The main thing is to carefully wipe the filter element from the remnants of water. If the HEPA filter is dirty, it is better to replace it with a new one. But as a temporary measure, you can simply clean it in any dry way.

Mechanical damage

If the first 2 options did not help, the device must be checked for mechanical damage. The most common ones are:

  1. Damage to the corrugated brush hose. With prolonged use, it may break. In this case, it can be temporarily repaired with electrical tape.
  2. Damage to the hose attachment mechanism to the vacuum cleaner body. There are also cases when it is simply not fully inserted.
  3. Clogging of the brush mechanism itself or bearing wear, which makes brush rotation difficult.
  4. Clogged hose with large debris inside.

Engine damage

The most serious cause of power loss and reduced traction of the vacuum cleaner are engine problems. Unfortunately, on inexpensive devices they are quite common. Initially, manufacturers put a small motor resource in order to stimulate a constant demand for their products, since the cost of the engine is comparable to the cost of a new device.

But the problems with the electric motor are different. For example, a breakdown associated with a broken contact of a wire or a blown fuse is quite possible to fix on your own. But a more serious repair is better to entrust to specialists.

In any case, the reliable and trouble-free operation of household electrical appliances depends on the timely care of them.The order and frequency of specific measures for servicing equipment is always prescribed in the instruction manual. Ignoring the manufacturer's recommendations is fraught with problems at the most inopportune moment.
