Their size is non-standard in all respects. It consists of two or more chambers located on the sides along its entire length. This refrigerator is the most capacious, as a rule, it is equipped with the most advanced technologies and a stylish design. But for all these advantages you have to share the precious area. It can reach a meter in depth and 80 centimeters in width. Such models are not suitable for small kitchens and living rooms. In height side-by-side it can reach 2.5 meters. Only the owner of a private house or apartment with very high ceilings can afford such a huge unit. But in it you can store the whole winter stock of frozen fruits and vegetables from the summer.
Custom Width Refrigerators
Side-by-side refrigerators are not the only owners of non-standard dimensions. If you order the unit from abroad, you must take into account the peculiarities of local standards. So, European models can reach 65 centimeters in width, and this is considered the norm. Therefore, in order to replace the old Soviet unit with the one brought from Europe, you have to squeeze a little neighboring furniture.
Asian models also differ in width. Refrigerators of any type produced for the domestic Asian market can reach 80 centimeters in width. Some manufacturers, such as LG, offer similar wide units in our market. Its obvious advantage is the ability to put a large product in it, for example, a whole pig.
Narrow models
Manufacturers such as Samsung and Atlant have a line of units with a width of 45 centimeters. If there’s not enough space in the kitchen by placing such a refrigerator, you can save space for a small cupboard or other kitchen furniture. Due to its narrowness, the door opens at a slight angle, which allows it to be installed almost close to the wall. In this case, the freezer is by no means small. The required volume is achieved due to the height, which for these models is not less than 180 centimeters.
And yet, the width should not be the main criterion when choosing. Much more important is its spaciousness and freezing technology.
