Until recently, it seemed that manufacturers simply could not create high-quality wireless headphones, but there was no question of a minimum price. But now the situation is changing dramatically. Naturally, Chinese brands were among the first to surprise. Meizu succeeded most of all - it managed to develop a technological product without extra wires, which is really inexpensive. Meet the EP52, because it is she who will transform your idea of Bluetooth headsets.

Equipment

We ordered these headphones in the popular Gearbest store, and they arrived to us quickly enough. Although the packaging has suffered a little, the box inside is beautiful and looks impressive. Meizu EP52 is not even ashamed to present as a gift.

After removing the outer “shell”, we see another box inside, it is in it that the entire delivery set is located. Such an “inner” box is made in the form of a book. Inside it, the wireless headphones themselves are neatly stacked, as well as four pairs of interchangeable nozzles of several types (classic and with ears). Here is a stylish and practical case. In general, the package and packaging left a good impression. The only exception is the work of mail, because of which the box turned out to be a little crushed.

Design and ergonomics

Meizu EP52 are made of high quality materials. Relatively small plugs have a special “ear”, which makes using the headset more convenient. There is a rim of silicone material. It not only connects the emitters, but also allows you to comfortably wear headphones on the neck. Thanks to the built-in magnets, the plugs are easily connected to each other. Between the rim and the radiators there is a connecting wire with a rubberized braid. There is splash protection according to the IPX5 standard, which is an indisputable plus.

Unfortunately, the headphones cannot boast of excellent noise isolation. In their ears they do not sit very tightly, and if they are accidentally hooked, they strive to fly off. It will be necessary to correct the headset more than once, and this already causes certain inconveniences. Otherwise, there are no complaints about the design. They hang perfectly on the neck, and the ear pads themselves are made of pleasant materials and do not cause discomfort to the ears.

Control

There is a control panel on the right handle: volume buttons, power on / pause button, and the songs need to be switched by holding the “+” and “-” buttons. In cold weather, switching tracks is not very convenient, because a scarf or collar often closes the temple with buttons. In other seasons there are no such problems. You can activate Shuffle mode so that the headphones play your favorite music in random order.

Sound

Assessing the sound quality of any headphones is a controversial and subjective exercise. Here, nevertheless, the principle is more valid when it is better to hear once than to read many times. In general, the sound of the headphones does not disappoint, given their cost, the clean vocals feel especially good. At any volume, the sound remains even, but here lies a peculiar catch, as this balance affects all frequencies. Because of this, the bass sounds kind of muffled. If you compare them with the predecessor EP51, then the new version sounds much better. But, for example, Sony MDR-XB950N1 seem a little more interesting. But again, it should be noted that this is a subjective opinion.

Connection

Since the headphones are wireless, the connection to smartphones, tablets and other devices is carried out using Bluetooth, but the connection quality is completely unsatisfactory. The connection is far from always the first time. Wireless signal transmission is possible only within the room. If you go to another room, then the connection begins to break off.The worst situation is with the iPhone, when you need to reconnect several times so that the sound does not interrupt. Moreover, for some reason, when connecting to Apple devices, the microphone does not work. With gadgets on Android, no such problems have been noticed.

Autonomy

If you use the headset continuously, then the charge will last up to 8 hours. At the same time, batteries are charged from scratch in 2 hours, these are good indicators for such gadgets.

Characteristics

  • Work time: 8 hours

Conclusion

We tested the Meizu EP52 week. During this time, one “unpleasant moment” related to the operation of one headphone “crawled out”. He quietly reproduced sounds at any volume, but suddenly this glitch disappeared, although an unpleasant residue remained. Otherwise, there are no serious complaints. And presenting them is difficult, given the purely budget segment. If you need stylish wireless headphones for the minimum amount, then the EP52 will be a good choice. In other cases, you can safely look at other models.
