Apple said that in 2020 it is planned to release just three iPhones with displays on organic LEDs (OLED). Engineers from Cupertino have already begun to develop a new smartphone that will replace the Iphone XS and XS Max, launched in 2019.
According to journalists, the screen size in future smartphones will be 5.42 and 6.67 inches. Nothing more is known about the upcoming updates. Representatives of the Western media expect that the first prototypes of smartphones will be shown to the public towards the end of 2019. Apple also plans to upgrade the low-cost iPhone XR smartphone.
Apple's main competitor is Samsung. At the same time, Koreans have long and regularly delivered their OLED displays to Cupertino. Now Apple is going to additionally connect LG and VOE Technology to its supplies.
In addition, engineers from Cupertino decided to stop developing the AirPower wireless charger that they had been working on for the past two years. What caused this step is not reported.
