How often did you have to wait for a commercial break while watching an interesting TV show to make yourself a fragrant drink or make a phone call? And how quickly did you try to do all this in time to continue the transfer?

Thanks to the TV function timeshift, you can forget about these inconveniences. It allows you to pause the TV show, and returning to continue watching from the same place.

This feature is built into many digital satellite decoders that have a USB port.

The principle of timeshift is extremely simple. At the moment you press the pause, recording of the broadcast to the device connected via the USB port begins (any medium is a USB flash drive, hard drive, and so on). At this time, the image freezes on the screen at the stop point.

The receiver performs several actions simultaneously. While you are busy with business and the broadcast is paused, he is preparing for the simultaneous recording and playback of the television program. Preparing to complete these tasks takes a few seconds.

The timeshift function provides not only recording when a pause is pressed, but also a constant one. That is, you can easily record a program by indicating its start time. The receiver will start the function at the appointed time and you can watch the desired program at any time convenient for you.

The duration of the memory depends on the memory size of the device on which recording is performed. Accordingly, a lot of memory is not needed to record a short passage or a short release. And if you want to record, for example, several full-length films, you will need to connect the drive more voluminously.

The possibilities of the function are not unlimited

With all the convenience of the innovation, timeshift features also have limitations:

• the function works on only one channel - the one you are currently watching. That is, you can’t watch one channel, but record an interesting program on another. When switching, timeshift starts recording a new channel, while the previous one is canceled;
• the duration of the time shift may depend on the location on the drive or other additional restrictions established by the manufacturer.

In fact, this framework is not so substantial.

Of course, in addition to the timeshift function, this TV contains everything that exists. And the size is 180x260 unless to put in a home theater.

In general, there are more than 200 models equipped with a timeshift and the initial price is not so high. So everyone can afford to not wait every time if they wish.
