A large construction project is planned in the country. Finally, there was a reason to buy a professional and expensive screwdriver. What tool to go to the estate to work with? While screwing only screws, and nothing else comes to mind? We assure you that screwdrivers have several additional functions that are useful when working. Today it is about them that we will tell.

One sleeve cartridge

Drills and screwdrivers have several types of clamps:

  1. With the key. Installation is long and inconvenient. The key is constantly lost. However, it clamps the drill or bit very tightly. When reversing or drilling does not turn.
  2. Cartridge with 2 couplings. To actuate, 2 hands are needed. Holding one, rotate the other.
  3. SDS cartridge. This fastening system is used in rotary hammers. It is very convenient, but it is used only with special drill bits or adapters.
  4. Hex connection is used in impact screwdrivers. Attaching accessories requires other tools.
  5. Cartridge with 1 clutch. Provides quick clamping of accessories with a free second hand.

The first option is outdated and almost never used. Options 3 and 4 are used on special devices. Surely the newly acquired device has a quick clamp function. The vast majority of screwdrivers are equipped with it. Keyless chucks do not need a key - you can install the accessory by hand. Such cartridges are briefly called BZP - quick-clamping cartridges and are made in one-sleeve or two-coupling version. The differences between the two-coupling and the one-coupling are in the design. The cartridge with coupling has a one-piece housing. With two couplings, as the name implies, there are 2 knurled parts.

Differences in functionality:

  1. With an automatic or manual spindle stop, a one-foot chuck is much more convenient for quickly clamping a drill or bit.
  2. The presence of 2 clamping sleeves require both free hands.
  3. You can clamp the drill with an integral coupling with one hand - you can simply press the tool with something, freeing the second hand.
  4. A single clutch creates a greater clamping force, unlike a double clutch.
  5. Turning the drill in the one-boot version is practically excluded.

Usb charge

Powerful models are equipped with removable batteries.

During difficult operation, the tool battery is discharged and requires recharging. To replace during operation, several batteries are purchased that are charged alternately in a special device.

This is important when using the tool actively in difficult conditions or during prolonged use. Some amateur models charge from a USB cable. The power of such a battery is small. They are not used in professional models. In lightweight models for amateur use are increasingly common. This is convenient - you just need to choose the right power supply or have a power bank. At the same time, simple work can be done directly during charging.

Such models are attractive for their cheapness. Sometimes there are USB outputs on the front side. In this case, such a device can be applied in the form of charging for a smartphone.

Pulse Mode

The pulse mode tool is a special apparatus for solving a wide range of tasks. Power and torque exceed the performance of classic models. This allows you to unscrew the attached bolts, nuts, screws, screws. Thanks to the special mode, the load on the fasteners is transmitted not smoothly, but in jerks - tangential impacts.

Advantages of models:

  • light weight and size;
  • high torque;
  • long term of operation;
  • improved control of the depth of immersion fasteners;
  • applications for complex fasteners;
  • lack of "biting" in the material.

Pulse mode is common in professional models and requires a habit of use. Application is accompanied by crackling and vibration. It is recommended to use headphones. A distinctive feature is a brushless motor, a reliable mechanism.

The type of tool is selected for a possible list of works. For rare use in an apartment, a cheap low-power tool with USB charging is suitable. One-sleeve cartridges are useful when drilling large holes, working in cramped conditions, at heights, with frequent tool changes. Pulse devices are the prerogative of professionals in industries, in repair shops.
