The user of the Reddit social network with the nickname thowerower has published a screenshot of the updated Microsoft Excel. It shows that in the list of available currencies Bitcoin has now appeared, which occupies a position between the currencies of Azerbaijan and Georgia. This is the first cryptocurrency introduced in Excel. Representatives of the company have not yet commented on the inclusion of bitcoin in the list, but it is known that Microsoft has long shown interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
The company even created a large unit dealing with blockchain issues. At the beginning of May, information appeared on the network that Microsoft was developing decentralized software solutions specifically for bitcoin. And Microsoft is the first company to start accepting payments in cryptocurrency. In 2014, users of accounts got the opportunity to replenish the balance of their accounts with bitcoin, which was automatically converted to dollar. But in early 2018, Microsoft temporarily stopped accepting such payments due to the high volatility of bitcoin.
