Popular taxi apps have been analyzed by Roskachestvo. During the analysis, they revealed dangerous vulnerabilities, the newspaper Izvestia writes. Specialists tested the applications of Uber Russia, Yandex-Taxi, Maxim, Get, Citimobil, Lucky, Rutaxi and Fasten. Programs were evaluated on a five-point scale.
As a result, the average application rate for the Android operating system was 4.16, and for the iOS system - 3.82. The experts' claims caused very weak encryption and data caching algorithms, and the SSL protocol was implemented insecurely. This vulnerability was discovered in all tested applications.
In addition, parameters such as the security of storage of personal information and the possibility of its leak were checked. Particular attention was paid to the safety of data received from bank cards. Based on the test results, experts recommend that you refrain from calling a taxi through mobile applications, especially if they work through open Wi-Fi.
