You undertook to repair the car: prepared the necessary materials, tools, studied all the necessary forums and read the instruction manual. But after spending a couple of hours in the pit under the car, we realized that the right tools do not fulfill their function. What to do? Today we will tell you how to use a construction punch to help a mechanic.


Remove parts, unscrew or cut off rusty bolts and nuts

To use the puncher as a universal tool, you need to cut a drill from a broken drill and weld the wheel bolt to the main part of the drill. The attached bolt is unscrewed if a perforator is placed vertically on it and turned on briefly.

Unscrewing the rusted nut, put a wrench on it and push against the resulting universal tool. Key force and vibration will do the trick.

You can cut the nut by resting the punch in the chisel attached to the nut or by inserting an impact screwdriver into it. Thus, we do not unscrew it, but simply break it into 2 halves. [Note]

Drive out or press in bearing

The manufactured tool will be useful for extruding and extruding bearings. It is pressed out easily and simply by installing it in the center and turning on the punch. For press fitting we make a new tool:

  • cut off the head of the head;
  • weld to a drill cutter without a drill;
  • we select the head for the diameter of the bearing and press in, pressing on with the included tool.

Change oil

When changing the oil, problems occur with loosening the drain bolt. But we also have a hammer drill! Having broken a hole near the drain hole, drain the oil, sealing the hole with sealant.

Open car door

The problem appears when we cannot open the car door. This happens if the lock is rusted or frozen in winter. Having directed our universal puncher into the area of ​​the castle through a thick book, we help the castle to open by vibration.

Halve the generator

The parts of the generator will be divided by the manufactured impact driver. First, tap the acidified junction with the resulting percussion instrument. Then we process it with WD grease or a similar preparation. Holding one part, we rest the tool against the edge of the other and turn it on briefly at several connection points. The cover is removable easily and naturally.

Remove brake drum

When repairing the brake system, you may encounter soured brake drums. In some places there is no thread for self-removal or the drum is part of the hub. For proper operation, you need a special puller, the cost of which is approaching $ 100. The solution is our vibrating apparatus.

To remove it is necessary to evenly tap the outer lining of the brake drum through a wooden insert. Preliminary, the structure must be treated with penetrating grease such as WD-40 and wait five minutes.

Knock out the catalyst

The catalyst is a useful thing for the environment. Honeycomb metal catalysts react with burnt gases and disinfect. The reality is that Russian fuel kills it very quickly. A heavily clogged catalyst significantly reduces vehicle power.

There are few ways out of the situation:

  • catalyst replacement;
  • installation of a flame arrester instead of a catalyst;
  • catalyst removal.

The last item is budgetary.

It is done in two ways:

  • unscrewing the exhaust pipe, you need to knock out all the insides using our miracle machine;
  • by removing the exhaust manifold together with the catalyst.
The first method is unusually simple, the second is more humane. We turn off the catalyst from the collector and knock out, tapping along the edges and achieving a virgin void node.
